Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels (OSV)

We design and deliver maritime projects for various markets like defense & security, public transport, offshore and dredging. Our projects are Engineered to Order (ETO). Which means we are involved throughout the project, from the commercial phase and building strategy, until commissioning, delivery and warranty. This makes our work very challenging because the environment is complex and we have a lot of stakeholders. We work in close cooperation with various internal departments, (sub)contractors, teams on the shipyard and of course the client and her representatives.

We do this with an international team of ‘can-do’ people that are developing new and innovative technologies and ways to support customers and push for a more sustainable maritime industry.

Job Description

A Supply Chain Engineer is responsible for setting up and monitoring the supply chain reporting, challenging and coordinating the (ERP) settings and the results to optimize the use of the supply chain. The supply chain engineer is located in the Supply Chain department to create an overview across all projects mainly on Q, L, T, C, R elements and to instruct, advise and support the Supply Chain team of the division.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Set up and monitor reporting for the supply chain team and setting up project related requirements in ERP;
• Analyze (ERP) data and derive and execute improvements in the Supply Chain setup based on the analysis results;
• Maintaining Supply Chain parameters in the ERP system; setting up the parameters to optimize the Supply Chain;
• Initiating and executing improvement programs in the supply chain team and with suppliers to improve flexibility and lower total cost;
• Evaluating and challenging the (project) teams for correct registration and maintenance of information within the ERP system;
• Manage the Supply Chain setup from NPI to Release-for-Volume status and the end-of-life process for components and products;
• Support the supply chain team in the supplier selection process to optimize the Supply Chain setup;
• Having a proactive attitude about suggesting improvements within the supply chain processes. Supported by process control, analysis and measurable results (KPI).

• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Strong analytical skills and a process-oriented mindset
• Proactive attitude with a passion for improvement
• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
• Fluent in Dutch or English – no language preference required
