Introduction to the role

The IT sector supports information management, infrastructure and automation and optimization of key business processes & services across ASML. IT infrastructure, hardware and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all ASML’s internal and external activities. Role and Responsibilities

As a System Architect Connectivity your Job Mission is to ensure that the enterprise architecture is implemented in the global connectivity domain defining services and solutions which enable ASML to move forward in a high demanding, fast moving and dynamic environment. You help shape the capability improvement roadmap in Connectivity domain, and are responsible for preparing and executing this roadmap.

As System Architect of the Connectivity art you are responsible for the further development of enterprise architecture within the global connectivity domain. You will act on both a tactical level (designing, documenting and communicating solutions that meet business requirements and are in line with the enterprise architecture standards and guidelines) as well as on a strategic level (identifying and designing the future state of the global connectivity infrastructure.

You work closely together with the CPO and RTE as part of the Leading Coalition of the ART.

As a System Architect Connectivity you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Define and maintain the technical roadmap, guidelines and standards for the ART.
  • Design and guide implementation of connectivity solutions.
  • Align the teams in the ART to shared solutions and technical directions; work with the teams in implementing these solutions with the required quality.
  • Work closely with the ART teams to ensure compliance and security of solutions deployed.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, other IT Departments and external vendors to ensure seamless integration and operation of the ART’s services.
  • Continuously improve your knowledge, your own skills and team’s skills.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in the team.
  • Consult in the identification and refinement of business requirements, and functional specifications of projects and programs.
  • Design, document and communicate business solutions in connectivity area according enterprise architecture standards and guidelines.
  • Define complementary principles within connectivity domain, such as the lifecycle management policy, providing guidance to Technical Landscape Owners and Service Managers.
  • Collaborate with Domain Architects of other functions in order to identify impact and provide solutions of cross-functional architectural requirements.
  • Participate in enterprise architecture governance to identify and design the future state of the global connectivity domain.
  • Identify weaknesses in the current connectivity architecture and propose and develop improvements.
  • Provide consultation to internal business partners on architectural options, risks, potential cost saving options and technology changes in the area of connectivity.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor or master degree in the area of computer science, technical business administration or equivalent combination of Education and experience.
  • Valid industry certifications such as ArchiMate and TOGAF.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in translating business requirements to architectural solutions in the area of IT infrastructure.
  • Sound understanding of infra connectivity technology, tools and best practices. Up to date with industry standards and trends.
  • Experience with the SAFe methodology.
  • Broad knowledge of design compliance and internal auditing programs.
  • Experienced in participating in complex projects.
  • Experienced in working in an environment where IT Service Management principles & processes are applied (e.g. ITIL).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
